As one would expect from a new Sony Ericsson handset, the XPERIA X10 Mini offers a great range of features. Catering for all manner of users from social networkers, to music fans, to business users, this compact phone offers something for everyone.

The XPERIA X10 Mini relies on touch screen navigation of the user interface. This is in the shape of a 2.55 inch TFT capacitive touch screen which is capable of displaying up to 16M colours within a pixel layout of 240×320. This makes for sharp, vibrant display of on screen content. An accelerometer sensor is built in allowing an auto rotate function, so the screen can be displayed in both portrait and landscape.

Operated by the renowned Android OS (v.16), the XPERIA X10 incorporates a wide array of features. A versatile media player supports most of the common formats of both music and video files, whilst users are also kept entertained for hours on end with a stereo FM radio player and a selection of pre-installed games. Dedicated applications allow direct access to popular sites such as Google and YouTube, whilst productivity tools include a document viewer, voice memo recorder and T9.

As the name suggests, the XPERIA X10 Mini is certainly a compact handset, measuring just 83x50x16mm, and it only weighs 88 grams. Its light weight and small dimensions make it a pocket friendly handset, and is comfortable to hold and use on the move.

Internal memory within the X10 Mini is 128 MB as standard, for storage of data such as music tracks or video clips. A micro SD slot is included for the same function, with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card. This can be upgraded however to up to 16 GB allowing plenty of storage for files. The internal phonebook can store a seemingly endless amount of contacts, and includes the popular photocall feature.

The X10 Mini relies on a variety of connectivity methods, ensuring users are always connected no matter where they are. Connection to cellular networks in areas not covered by 3G, class 10 versions of both EDGE and GPRS provide the initial connection. HSDPA works alongside HSUPA in areas covered by 3G, to provide a fast internet connection. A faster connection can be made available, however, in areas where a wireless internet router is located. This utilises the signal provided by the router and in turn provides users with a faster connection and therefore an enhanced web browsing experience.

Vibration and MPP3 ringtones alert users to incoming calls and messages, and allow customisation of the phone to take place. By taking advantage of the MP3 ringtone feature, users on the XPERIA X10 Mini can hear their favourite song any time the phone rings.

The 5MP camera offers the chance to take good quality snapshot no matter where you are, and can also shoot video. This is in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

Given its range of technology, and the popular android operating system and user interface, the XPERIA X10 Mini provides a well rounded package.
