The impressive Sony Ericsson the XPERIA X10 range features several stunning handsets. Amongst them is the XPERIA X10 mini pro. With essentially the same specifications as the XPERIA X10 mini, the mini pro sees the addition of a slide out QWERTY keyboard. This adds appeal to those who prefer the use of a physical keyboard rather than a touchscreen keyboard for efficient text entry.
The 2.55 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen boasts the ability to display up to 16M colours within 240x 320 pixels offering an unparalleled level of display quality of on screen imagery. An accelerometer sensor is built in allowing the screen to rotate dependent upon the orientation of the phone, therefore the screen can be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms. As mentioned a full QWERTY keyboard slides out from behind the screen offering an efficient method of entering text.
Everyday functionality is certainly impressive within the XPERIA X10 mini pro thanks largely to a long list of features ranging from a versatile media player to Google and YouTube integration. A number of pre-installed games and a stereo FM radio player are also included for keeping users entertained. A document viewer and voice memo recorder provide impressive productivity features, ideal for business users.
The handset features a five mega pixel camera which operates at a pixel resolution of 2560x 1920 pixels. This equates to high quality still images with great levels of detail and clarity. Autofocus and an LED flash are provided, making the task of taking great photos a breeze even in low lighting conditions. VGA quality video can be shot using the camera and this is at a rate of 30 frames per second. And video light is included so quality footage is achievable even in poor lighting conditions.
A micro SD slot provides sufficient storage for data such as media files thanks to a pre-installed 2 GB memory card. This card can be removed and replaced with a larger memory card of up to 16 GB, should further storage be required. This provides ample storage for music collections, video clips and photos etc.
In order to stay connected to cellular networks, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro utilises class 10 versions of both EDGE & GPRS. Access to the Internet is provided by HSDPA (alongside HSUPA) in areas covered by 3G. A faster Internet connection can be attained thanks to Wi-Fi Technology detecting the signals provided by wireless Internet routers, allowing users to surf the web at broadband speeds. Bluetooth and micro USB connections are also provided allowing the handset to connect to other devices so a number of tasks can be performed.
A speakerphone and a 3.5 mm audio Jack provide effective handsfree options. Users are alerted to incoming text messages and voice calls thanks to a combination of vibration and ringing with the option to utilise MP3 files as ringtones. This allows customisation of the phone to be achieved so users can hear whatever song they like when the phone rings.
With the renowned Android OS running a number of impressive features, it is easy to see the appeal of the Sony Ericsson the XPERIA X10 mini pro, whilst the keyboard ticks the boxes for those who may not be the biggest fans of touch screen technology.
